Gibbie Shawl

Hello, again!

The camera, sunlight, and I reconnected yesterday, so I have something to show. As noted in my last long-ago post, this is the Gibbie Shawl by Gladys Amedro. Yarn spun from 8 ounces of Enchanted Knoll Farm batts in the Fern colorway on my little Bosworth featherweight spindle--though I used less than 6 ounces for this project. Meaning I have lots of lovely Fern laceweight yarn left over. :)

In other news, I can't blame schoolwork for my blogging absences anymore:

Beautiful shawl, and I am doubly impressed that you spun the yarn yourself.

Ode to Miss Alice Faye: Gibbie is exquisite. And if the degree is done, I hope that means a bit more blogging will be possible. You are inspiring. Congratulations on all counts.

And of course, the shawl is beautiful, too. Will you wear it to graduation?
Posted by: June at January 26, 2009 02:05 PM
Your shawl is gorgeous. Your blog is one of my favorite for inspiring projects. Congratulations on your degree. I can only imagine the amount of work it took. Seems that knitting and graduate work are complimentary, perhaps. Good luck on whatever is your next endeavor.

It's always well worth waiting for one of your posts. I can't believe you spun all the yarn for that gorgeous shawl, let alone the knitting of it. Your immortality in fiber....

That may be the purpose why I appreciate to lookup for weblogs. The comments are usually incredibly authentic, we could all use much more enjoyable reading.
