Stork's Nest Scarf

Another small project--A Stork's Nest Scarf by Nancy Bush from the Jan/Feb 2008 issue of Piecework magazine. I used a merino laceweight from Fearless Fibers in the colorway Rubicund. Such a pretty and squishy yarn....

Still with the spinning:

The spindle-spun Coopworth from the last entry, plied and finished at approximately 14wpi (fingering weight).

And a pretty Romeldale/CVM blend from a sort-of-local shop (Mocha's Fiber Connection), spun on the spindle, also approximately 14 wpi.
And, as some of you may have anticipated, I was unable to resist aquiring a wheel. It's the folding single treadle, and I bought it from Spunky Eclectic, along with some fabulous fibers that you'll probably see around here in the near future. :)

I like that Rubicund color. It reminds me of a rhubarb sauce I like to make for ice cream.
The lacey scarf seems just perfect for this time of year. Beautiful!

Lovely scarf! And your yarn porn is nice too. :)

Woohoo! Another spinner in the fold!
Let us know what you think of the Fricke. It looks like a good, reliable wheel.

What a beautiful scarf!
I'm still resisting on the whole spinning thing...

Gorgeous scarf! I laugh at how you call it a small project. I suppose it is next to the Princess Shawl.
So you already got a wheel! And a Fricke! Congratulations! I look forward to seeing what you produce on it. I also look forward to seeing what else you picked up from Spunky. She's got such gorgeous fibers. I especially like her colorway "Monkey Farts", though I think it's more the name I'm attracted to. I've got a perverse sense of humor.

Your spinning is really beautiful with the spindles. Great Colors and very even. Your scarf is so delicate and the yarn for that is terrific. Congratulations on the beautiful new wheel! I think you are going to really enjoy spinning with it and I can't wait to see what you make :-)

Love the scarf, would be nice to extend into a shawl...
I knew you'd end up with a wheel :o) your handspun on a drop spindle is lovely..... The Yarn Wench is very nice for fibre.....

Like Opal, I marvel at your "small project" designation. Stork's Nest is a beautiful piece!

What an outstanding scarf! And congratulations on the wheel acquisition -- so far I've held out successfully (by distracting myself with more spindles), but it's only a matter of time.

Ruh roh! Alice spins. You may not have time to work anymore.

Another one bites the dust! :-) Welcome to the fold. We have the best kool-aid in town! ;-)
And your scarf is absolutely lovely. Though it's surprising to see a project over here that doesn't require knitting acres and acres of fabric on teeny needles! ;-)

My goodness! I didn't recognize that this was the same scarf you were wearing this past weekend (it is, isn't it?). You mentioned that it needed to be reblocked... I love it both ways!
