Skein love

raspberry%20sherbet.jpg

I've been getting a lot of spinning practice in, to the detriment of the knitting. Silly scant 24-hour days. (Although I did start the final center repeat on the Princess shawl! Soon I'll be back to that exciting edging again!)

Anyway, the above specimen is from four ounces of handpainted Blue Faced Leicester in the Raspberry Sherbet colorway from Lone Star Arts. Spun on the wheel--315 yards at 16 wpi.

One ounce of handdyed Shetland roving from The Secret Pocket. Spindle spun--135 yards at 14 wpi. So springy and nice!

Undyed merino laceweight spun on the spindle. 296 yards at 20 wpi.

Fiber festival madness starts here this weekend! However. I must stop thinking about sheep and study for my final exam in cataloging. Must. Study.

But it's so hard with the new toy sitting across the room....

Nice, very nice wheel! What's the first fiber you have in mind to spin on the wheel? :) Thank you for the links, there's some nice fiber in those links!

See you went with the Fricke.... we don't have access to them in the UK..... Your wheel spun yarn is gorgeous as is your spindle spun yarns.... you seem to have a natural talent for all things fibrey... :o)

Wow! Beautiful skeins of yarn you have produced! So true about spinning. It does cut into the knitting time not to mention the study time but I find it so relaxing. Besides, you can always knit with the end result. Good Luck with the exams!
