Project proliferation

Another distraction while (impatiently) waiting for the Princess re-release. This will be a stole using the bead column, tree, spider and diamond pattern in Heirloom Knitting as the center (extra spider variation) . Borders and edging TBD. I'm knitting it with HK's Gossamer CashSilk yarn in viola--very soft, very fine.
I did succeed in buying a substantial quantity of sweater yarn at Rhinebeck (as well as lovely laceweight, of course!), including some shetland yarn for an aran, which really does look quite mossy in moss stitch:

My projects are multiplying rapidly, it seems. Is "too much knitting to do" a legitimate reason for taking a personal day at work?

Two more weeks and we will have Princess. Provided it is Nov the 1st that is!

It's called a 'mental health day' and I know from experience that it is appropriate! I retired to stay home and knit full time. Enjoy your day off!

The contrast between those two pieces is a bit head-spinning. I love that violot color--it's lovely.
What color are you going to use for Princess? I saw it in a dark blue and didn't care for it, so I am looking for lighter colors.

yes, i say a personal day is definitely in order.

I'm in the same boat, I'm thinking a personal day for knitting would be wonderful :) Especially as Christmas approaches and I realize how many things I've cast on for gifts!

Totally legit.
Thanks for putting up with us this weekend. And for buying my baked potato. :)
I still don't feel recovered. lol
See you Weds.

Absolutely! Just be aware of the price tag: My boss has called me a nerd since he learned that I used a week of my summer vacation for learning how to make patterns for trousers that actually fit me...

love that colour :o) of the lace and the pattern looks pretty too...
you're quite right re the 'mossy' look with that aran yarn... I like moss stitch ahh........

I'm waiting for Princess, too. I'm trying to finish the Shetland Sampler stole before casting it on once it arrives, but will no doubt succumb to the siren call of the Princess. Your "biding time" project is lovely!

"too much knitting to do" is the perfect excuse to take a day off from work. I use it every chance I get. I, too, am impatiently waiting for the re-release of Princess and in anticipation, this weekend, I cast on for the Melanie. See we all have "too much knitting..."

Love the stole design, by the way. Can't wait to see it progress.

I love that stole design! Just gorgeous. I agree with the others. A personal day is perfectly in order. :)

Your viola shawl is beautiful. What sized needles are you using?

We'll need to stagger our personal/"sick" days so LHR doesn't get suspicious.

Super pretty lace, as you usually produce :)
NO personal day for knitting just yet, you've not been there long enough for that. Take a personal weekend.

How utterly lovely and ethereal that violet shawl is! The moss stitch looks wonderful as well. It looks like you made out well at Rhinebeck so a "mental health" day away from work sounds really good to me! Even though I will get the Princess Shawl, I know I won't start it this year, but I look forward to seeing you make it if you do! Almost as good as actually knitting it :-)

Wow! What a beautiful pattern! I love your choice of color. Knitting lace AND sweaters?? You do need a few personal days for knitting. :-)

Lovely lace, as ever, and some beautifully mossy moss stitch! I'm totally with you, counting down the days until Princess release!!

The violet is BEYOND lovely. I'm all for mental health days. Wish I dared.

I am late to comment, but I have DEFINATELY taken personal days, where I just so happen to end up knitting all day...
