Wow. Wow. Triple wow. I am speechless.
I just started trying to make lace swatches this week and gotten very frustrated so I am in awe looking at your amazingly beautiful stole. It truly is a heirloom piece. Brava!

Did you use the old (really Shetland) cobweb 1-ply from Lacis, or the more recent Pashmina cobweb from China? It's easy to tell, the old stuff came balled, the new stuff is hanked. If you used the new stuff, I'm curious about your thoughts on how it might wear.

Your Unst Stole is simply splendid, Alice. I aspire to knit it myself in 2007, and your stole is great motivation. Thanks for sharing it.

Oh, your shawl is breathtaking. What beautiful work!

Utterly magnificent! You are much better at knitting that cobweb weight Shetland than I am. I am inspired to resume my own poor efforts by your example! Your shawls are simply fabulous!

That is truly magnificent!

having seen it in person now, i'm even more bowled over. it's the most delicate thing i've ever seen--like victorian cobwebs. you're a lace knitting goddess.

That's incredible. A masterpiece! I don't know where you find the stamina for these immensely complex lace projects, but I really admire you for it! :-)
