WOW! It looks like you're so close, but that edging sure is a lot of work. Definitely worth it though because it will be LOVELY.

The 56 sounds like a lot. 8 doesn't sound so bad at this point. You probably already have it done!

Wow! You have some stick-to-it-tiveness, 60+ hours on your shawl (it is gorgeous and so delicate)! I was browsing other people's take on the Swallowtail which brought me to your blog - the nupps are scaring me as I make my way towards them! However, I will prevail because I love your shawl as yet another testament to this pattern - fabulous!
