Stor Rund Dug

stor%20rund%20dug%20complete.jpg

Stor Rund Dug from yarnover.net, knit with Halcyon Yarns' 20/2 pearl cotton, size 000 dpns. 12.5 inches in diameter.

About halfway through the second repeat of the feather and fan pattern, I'd had enough--enough of the repetitive pattern, enough of the tiny dpns. The pattern calls for a third repeat, but when I looked at the line that said "repeat 96 times," I knew that I just couldn't without losing some small but precious part of my mind.

Kind of pretty, though.

Anyway, I'm so tired of tiny dpns that I've set aside the gloves once again and have two new projects going on size 2 and 3 circs. I contemplated going up to a 4 for one of them, but that was just too much. :)

Want to know what's next?

That is a really pretty lace pattern. I can't imagine working on such tiny needles for so long, the insanity, wow!

That color is to die for! Fantastic work. I planned on knitting Rusted Root also but as soon as my 3 skeins of Cotton FLeece arrived I lost steam. Maybe I'll get my mojo back when I see yours. What yarn are you going to use? I even had to have the same color as in the pattern. I'm such a lemming.

AWESOME!!! It's really beautiful. Where will you put it? I am sad to see the conclusion of doilies for now, but lace dragon looks like a great next move.

Beautiful doily! I would have either killed myself or stopped much sooner than you did:) Rusted Root is very pretty and would be a nice change from all that intense lace you knit. I see you have been infected with the Dragone bug. You might check out the Yahoo group for some info on what they are using to knit it. I haven't started it myself because...well you already know. Must finish something first:) You may want to check out "fly in my soup" at (http://flyinmysoup.blogspirit.com) as she just started knitting it. Once again, wonderful knitting, you insane woman you!

it's so tiny and delicate. it makes my eyes hurt just thinking about knitting it.

Absolutely beautiful. I had seen your "in progress" pictures, but it didn't register how small this thread is. To have created all that holey, lace beauty in 12.5 inches of diameter really makes it sink in how much work was involved. Bravo.

But this is so lovely! Haven't knitted with really tiny needles myself ...

That is .just. .gorgeous. Great work!

With all of this lacey doily goodness, one would think you were knitting for your trousseau. Does Jon know that you've got another beau?

Well done, your doily looks beautiful. I can understand that you had had enough of such intricate work. It really is stunning.

Beautiful doily. You were wise to stop repeating. How big was it supposed to be? I think 12 or so inches is plenty big for a doily. Where is the dragon pattern sold?
