Caprice

Yes, I've started Rusted Root and Dragone. (Click here and here for progress). Yes, I've enjoyed working on both.

And yet. The fine lace--it has an inexplicable hold on me. So I pulled out the Unst stole again.

Stretched it out.

Fell a bit in love.

7 out of 10 pattern repeats completed for the center. I think I'm finally ready to commit to this project, crazy gossamer weight single-ply yarn and all.

Oh yes yes yes!!!!!!! I tried knitting the Unst stole once. My cat swiped it off the needles and causes irreparable harm to it and to my emotional state. But I would love to watch someone else knit it! Yours is looking beautiful!

Dear Alice, Your Unst shawl center is wonderful! I'm glad you're going to continue with it. Root and Dragone are both coming along nicely as well. I'm alot slower so I'll cheer you on while I slog along. Good luck!

...sigh...heavenly.

Incredible. I don't know how you do it... I love knitting lace too, but strictly the wimpy kind with purl-back rows. And yarn thicker than sewing thread. ;-)

That beginning of a shawl looks like a great piece in and of itself. I'm currently tiring of the branching out scarf and thinking of ending it and using the rest of the yarn for bookmarks.
