back tack happiness
So I received the loveliest backtack package from Carolyn in Australia...
(You should go look at her blog, because her pictures are much better than mine.)
Look at that fabulous bag (which I am now toting around everywhere)! With my name on it! :) And a Rowan Living book to guide me in my stalled home decorating. So pretty!
I wanted to learn the hip new craft of tatting, so she sent me a little kit. I have produced this tiny misshapen ringlet so far:
There was chocolate, too. It is long gone.
Thank you, Carolyn!
(I will reveal my own back tack effort this week. Two posts in one week!)
This weekend was all about yardwork on the old homestead. I managed to transfer all of my bulbs from the refrigerator into the ground. Daffodils live here:
Jon made the clever border. And trimmed hedges. And chopped down lots of dead things with his fearsome combination of machete, axe, and gardening shears. He's a far more diligent yardworker than I. At least I avoided any poison ivy.

Monday monkey
To achieve better picture quality, I must stop finishing things so late at night. Ha.
Speaking of finishing things, I have finally finished my back tack offering. Hopefully, it can make it halfway around the globe by the deadline.
As for news from the home front, we received our box of bulbs in the mail the other day--daffodils, crocuses, irises, and tulips. Now to figure out where the hell to put them and attempt to avoid killing them like I have every other plant under my care.

Oregon Worsted Company
Since Hannah asked, this the lovely vintage yarn used for the bunny of two posts ago. Gifted to me by two lovely ladies browsing this store in Portland, I believe.
Gotta love that $1.49 price tag....
As for you, back tack partner, here is my word association:
Bagel or croissant? Um, donut
A bucket or a thimble? thimble
Warm or cool? warm
Loud or soft? soft (hence my dismay at living near an intersection frequented by vehicles with teeth-rattling stereo systems. the things you don't notice when shopping for a house....)
Patterned or plain? patterned
Rough or smooth? smooth
