Not impressed
So at lunch I venture to the newly-opened yarn shop a few blocks away from my office. I require a circular needle, size 0, for magickal earth, which will soon require a needle of a shorter length (yay!).
My inquiry is met with "I didn't know they made them that small" from the staff person, who went on to helpfully suggest that I use a size 1 instead.
Sigh. Amateurs.

More orange, more bunny
Made using this free pattern from Jess Hutch, creator of many adorable knitted items (do check out her robots), and an awesome 70s-era yarn selected just for me by two lovely ladies in Oregon.

more bunny craft
Despite the torturous poison ivy (fear not--I am in the midst of prednisone treatment), I managed to finish this bag over the weekend.
fun with bunny applique....
My new sewing machine has fancy stitches! I put one to use on the strap....

In the interests of back-tack disclosure....
As I pursue what I like to call my "No needlecraft left behind" program, I have yet to explore the mysteries of crewel embroidery or tatting. A small introduction to either of these crafts would make me feel like a more well-rounded person. :)

That's a hippo, son.
A new embroidery.
Closer....
Closer....

Meanwhile, I look like this:
Lots of poison ivy under those bandages. And on a good percentage of the rest of the body. I am clearly ill-suited to yardwork.

Thanks to my back-tack partner for the introduction, so to speak. :) When the antihistamine fog wears away, I'll begin revealing heretofore unexplored crafting urges. Because God knows I need more crafting paraphernalia around the house....

Leaving the forest
The evergreen trees are complete....
and it's starting to look like an actual square. Each row now takes about half an hour. Next up is the unicorn pattern. Not sure how I feel about unicorns, but it's too late to back out now, eh?
I have started a new quilt, for our bed. Note that I'm making the squares really BIG, so as not to get sucked into another project that will take me seven months to complete....
And I leave you with a picture of the world's fastest refrigerator. Happy Friday! Happy long weekend!
