craft withdrawal
Most of my supplies are now packed in boxes--sewing maching, fabric, yarn, embroidery threads, magazines, books.
Makes me jittery.
The only thing I've had to work on is the magickal earth shawl. 90 degree heat + 99% humidity + no air conditioning + wool yarn = masochism. But this is the addiction I have to feed, people.

Monkey
Aside from my customary laziness and inattention, blog posts are sporadic lately because of the interminable packing.... This Friday afternoon, Jon and I shall become homeowners (yikes!) and by Sunday we must be out of the apartment to make way for the folks who took out a new lease on the place (bless them).
I did manage to finish Jon's birthday present, only a couple of weeks late.... He is now honored with a place in Jon's office.
And some blurry close-ups (apologies--they were done in a last minute, desperate-to-get-out-of-the-office hurry.

More progress
Due to more prospective tenants traipsing about, I managed to pick up only half of the center stitches: 576 to be exact. It's actually not as tedious as I had feared and I have so much renewed interest in the thing that I brought it to work today in the hopes of tacking the other 576 during lunch.....
Two more apartment viewing appointments tonight. Eventually, I hope to have time to actually start posting pictures again....

Magickal Earth edging...done!
Finally. And the ends are grafted together. Tonight we commence the picking up of stitches.
Final unblocked edging measurement: 13.5 feet long.

Apologies
My apologies to Carolyn, as I promised to post pictures on the blog for her last week. I have been waylaid by much cleaning of the apartment and showing it to people who ultimately don't rent it. Blah.
There are new pictures in the flickr gallery, though....
And in the midst of the apartment brouhaha, I have managed to make it to the LAST REPEAT of the magickal earth shawl border. Depending on how many people are traipsing through the apartment tonight, I may even get to start picking up those 5 billion stitches to start the center portion....

Tiny update
Hello, strangers!
1) I've added links to my Flickr photo galleries in the sidebar to the right under "Project Galleries." Nothing you haven't seen already, but a major technological accomplishment for me, particularly since my body is in the throes of carbohydrate withdrawal. Bear with me! I will update the galleries starting tonight.
2) I picked up the Magickal Earth shawl again over the weekend and am now three measly repeats away from being done with the border. Very exciting!
3) If you haven't heard already, Jon and I found a lovely little house to buy! If all goes according to plan, I shall have my own washer and dryer by the end of the month. Very very exciting!
